About US
Sailirc is a small irc network, with a single server, that was made for all people who love sailing or any type of water sports. If you like powerboats -- sailboats -- or just love being on the water please join us. Although they are based around sailing they are open to all kinds of topics and welcome people from all over the world. Sailirc uses a Java webclient called GoPJirc on their website, which, when used, automatically joins the #lobby and #chat channels. Since they try to create a calm environment, they do not allow flooding or advertising in any of the public channels.
History
This network was founded as a public service around the year 2003 by Nora H, they decided to start focusing on water sports in 2004 instead and renamed their network to Sailirc. Today, they attempt to make it as safe and clean as they can.
